MR PORTER London, designed by Baranowitz + Kronenberg, reimagines the steakhouse as a cinematic, subterranean world. Entered through a discreet copper door, guests descend a spiral staircase into a space of dualities—sensual and cerebral, public and private. Inspired by Mayfair’s hidden Tyburn River, its mirror-finished copper ceiling, brass tones, and velvety textures evoke depth, reflection, and atmospheric indulgence.

And that might just be the true definition of modern luxury

As design becomes an ever-more integral part of the dining experience, spaces like MR PORTER London offer a blueprint for the future. Here, luxury isn’t defined by excess but by intention. Every element, material, sound, scent, light, has been curated to heighten the senses rather than overwhelm them.
In a world increasingly saturated with ‘Instagrammable’ venues chasing the next viral moment, MR PORTER feels like a welcome return to depth. It asks its guests not just to look, but to feel.

Following Amsterdam and Barcelona Baranowitz + Kronenberg introduce a captivating scene to Mr. Porter’s new bastion in Mayfair , London. Inspired by the hey days of Mayfair’s Hay Market, B+K echo its infamous spirit through a refined and sophisticated design that sets the scene for a joyful celebration in the underground.

There is more than meets the eyes at the underground :

an intimate sensorial speak-easy space designed for a higher level of consciousness.

Inspired by Mayfair’s hidden Tyburn River

The Underground is a leading theme in B+K’s spatial scheme where reality is a reflection and reflection a reality .

Descending to the heart of Mr. Porter is falling through the rabbit hole:

A copper door on street level reveals nothing of the world awaiting behind it . a seamless monochromatic welcome foyer reveals a spiral stair : the descent begins.

A central 360-degree bar anchors
an atmosphere that’s both social and intimate.

Velvet seating, stone accents, and immersive sound create a space designed to draw you in, not dazzle. Baranowitz + Kronenberg’s “ladies’ steakhouse” reimagines the genre with elegance and emotion—light, lean, and refined, where every detail fosters connection and sensory engagement.

Every element – from copper and velvet to lighting and sound – was crafted to elevate dining into a live narrative of reflection, emotion, and connection.
