TOWNHOUSE

Amsterdam

Team Leader: Emmanuelle Cohen
Photographer: Today’s Brew

Life within the house is celebrated from street to garden; an urban retreat of sorts for life in the city.
A family town house in the center of Amsterdam blessed with a south facing garden and a north facing the street, set the foundations for a linear axis that regulates the spatial arrangement of its living spaces from north to south.

This one fine Home resonates with Coco Chanel’s perception of the art of living: it is not houses I love, it’s the life I live in them.

A central staircase which once divided the town house into back and front has been replaced with a new linear one which revealed a new open interior axis – a spatial quality which the owners expressed from the outset.

While the Lower Garden level and Street level manifest the family’s leisure spaces, the upper floor is reserved for the private quarters of the family. Craft is a common denominator to the entire design; mostly bespoke and personal, tailored around the habits, dreams and lifestyle of the family.
